Travertine is a beautiful stone. Most travertine surfaces have a honed finish, also known as low-sheen, matte or buff. It is used in many homes floors and bathrooms.
It is a calcium based stone which makes it sensitive to acids. It also has holes that have been filled during the fabrication process.
Maintenance- We recommend yearly maintenance especially in the bathrooms and high traffics areas in floors. This process uses a slurry method so there is not any dust.
We use floor machines and hand machines. Grout is cleaned. And we also fill holes with a color matched epoxy. The stone is honed and sealed with an impregnating sealant which is absorbed within the stone for the best protection.
This process removes minor scratches and etches, mildew and soap scum to bring back the beautiful swirls of colors.
